What is it about?
This study looks at how training affects knowledge workers’ chances of leaving their job. It found that if workers feel their skills fit the job but don’t fit well with the company, training might actually increase their desire to leave. Fit with both job and company matters.

Why is it important?
Training only reduces turnover when employees feel they fit both their job and the company. HR should assess this fit, hire people whose values match the organization, make culture clear, offer training to close skill gaps, and adjust job roles to better use employees’ strengths.
