We address problems related to precise measurements of angular position (e.g. by encoders) in cases when the mechanical structure is complicated - e.g. couplings or gearboxes are applied.

Why is it important?
Neglecting various konds of kinematic errors related to mechanical components, like couplings or gearboxes, leads to erroneous results of the experiments.
Perspectives
We hope this article will help many engineeres and researchers to build in a correct way their own custom test rigs featuring high accuracy of detecting the angle displacements.
