What is it about?
This research investigates how Internet users comment in response to rumor corrections posted on social media. As the test cases for investigation, it looks into two rumor corrections on YouTube. The rumors were set in the context of the riots and protests in Jakarta following the 2019 Indonesian presidential election.

Why is it important?
The rumor corrections were not always effective in nipping the rumors in the bud. Worryingly, apart from failing to serve their intended purpose, these videos gave rise to online hate speech.
