What is it about?
This paper proposes a strategy to identify the states of ignition phase of 250 W High-Intensity Discharge Metal-Halide (HID-MH) lamps. The proposed strategy is based on Neural Classifier with the aim of providing high stability at ignition stage of HID-MH lamps. A hybrid Sliding Mode Control (SMC) is applied at each ignition stage to obtain a reduction up to 50% of starting time, which provides a fast response to the HID-MH lamps in practical applications.
