What is it about?
Some analytical expressions for calculating the magnetic induction and the vector potential in iron-free media due to conductors in an annular arc shape with regular cross-section are reported. The algorithms derived can be used to calculate the magnetic fields in complicated geometries and may be used to evaluate the self- and the mutual-inductance coefficients in systems with massive conductors.

Why is it important?
the analytical model can be used for the optimization and the performance evaluation of magnetic devices as such permanent magnet springs or the calculation of the force and the stiffness between permanent magnets.
