What is it about?
Universities can also be ranked according to competitive advantages in the higher education sector. We develop a new methodology and rank foundation universities according to this new approach. The ranking methodology can be used for any type of university, in this study we chose foundation universities in Turkey to apply the ranking.

Why is it important?
Other ranking methodologies rank universities mostly by what they produce, we also rank them according to what they offer in terms of physical, human and economic resources. This will shed light on how they produce and whether they are equipped enough to produce, rather than just what they produce.
Perspectives
I believe this study is important in terms of underlining how should a university be ranked higher if what they offer creates value in the society. For example, you can argue that publication is an important indicator for a university's success, but where does it really lie in an environment where social contribution is needed more urgently?
