What is it about?

Research about the role of supply chain sources for innovation performance of firms have not gone beyond ordinary interactions with supply chain members (suppliers and customers) and there is a gap in literature about the direct effect of learning orientation on supply chain integration. Our study therefore aims to explore how operations strategy and supply chain integration affect innovation performance of manufacturing firms under influence of learning orientation. Based on 243 responses from UK manufacturers our findings show that learning orientation influences operations strategy and supply chain integration, but it does not have a direct impact on innovation performance. Additionally, quality and flexibility strategies affect innovation performance and supply chain integration positively, while cost and delivery strategies don’t have a significant effect on these variables.
