Why is it important?
The Code of Practice is a standard designed to count the usage of electronic resources, in a library setting. In 2017, COUNTER consulted widely with is its communities to develop Release 5 (effective from January 2019). The result is a Code of Practice designed to have improved consistency, clarity, and flexibility, so that the Code of Practice can be adapted and extended as digital publishing changes over the years.
