Debiasing misinformation: how do people diagnose health recommendations from AI?

What is it about?

We addressed how misinformation in the algorithmic context influences users’ heuristic, systematic, and diagnostic assessment capabilities in discerning health misinformation. The results from the analyses showed that heuristic and systematic processing significantly influenced users’ attitudes and intentions; however, such influence was mediated by the perceived diagnosticity and interpretability of the AI system.
