What is it about?

Cities are claiming to embrace sustainability in city branding and planning processes. In practice, often cities focus on achieving economic outcomes, such as job creation, which results on less attention to social and environmental sustainability. We explore whether urban sustainability aspirations are delivered in practice through an analysis of city strategies and reflect on how a more systemic approach to delivering sustainability is needed.
