This paper examines the dynamics of market development of Islamic banking in Pakistan. This study attempts to find how shocks to the economy in the form of changes in benchmark rate and exchange rate and internal factors like efficiency, profitability and asset quality affect the evolution of Islamic banking in Pakistan. The study also evaluates Islamic banking itself on inclusiveness, competitiveness and fairness.
