What is it about?

The pandemic has initiated to acknowledge the significance of supply chains readiness to respond during uncertainty. Retailers and suppliers are challenged to take risk and preparing themselves to take strategic actions according to the pandemic situation. The retailers are extending their relationships during this difficult time knowing the fact that it will not be possible to manage their Retail Supply Chains (RSCs) efficiently and processing order fulfillments single handedly during the pandemic situation. In the changing environment situation, retailers are trying to explore new ways of conducting business efficiently with less cost and value creation with the extended support from the suppliers. This study has utilized integrated Full Consistency Model (FUCOM)–Best Worst Method (BWM) methods for assessing RSCs to enhance their business performance by assessing environmental sustainability of RSCs post pandemic. The FUCOM has been applied to identify the weights of criteria, whereas the alternatives are evaluated using BWM method. The study reveals that collaboration efficiency is the main criterion for managing RSCs in the changing environment situation that may increase the efficiency of the business operations post COVID19. Also, the study shows that Order fulfillment and Digital RSCs are the most appropriate alternatives for the post pandemic situation. This study is helpful for business organizations to focus on the dominant determinants and should adopt order fulfillment and digital RSCs to meet immediate customer requirements and survive in post COVID-19.
