What is it about?
Functionality of mobile apps can be extended by adding contextual features such as filtering information by location. In our paper we have empirically analysed the impact on such an improvement by adding contextual features to a mobile language learning app.

Why is it important?
The results of the analysis revealed, that the contextual app was perceived as beneficial for learning . The location-aware feature was essentially relevant to improve the perceived usefulness, as it may increase the learning effectiveness of the app in everyday life.
Perspectives
Today's smartphones are more than just mobile computers with smaller screens. The build-in sensors can enable new usage scenarios based on contextuality. More research is required to understand how these features affect user experience.
