What is it about?
Remote monitoring is often considered a way to allow clinicians to access patient data and provide care at distance. Our research on diabetes care in a peadiatric setting has shown that patient may adopt different strategies to manage their data, including not sharing their data to keep control over their condition.

Why is it important?
Our research shows that technological innovation in remote management of chronic condition can lead to unforeseen outcomes. In particular, if the patient-doctor relationship is based on a significant self-management on the patient side the introduction of a system that aims at re-assign a central role to providers may not have the desired effects.
