What is it about?
Those in informal employment are disproportionately affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, but often receive less government support than those in formal employment. The short- and long-term effects of the pandemic are far from clear and will be influenced by the balance of incentives and disincentives between workers, employers, governments and other institutions and this paper considers some significant implications on the informal economy and informal employment.
