Universities speak up regarding the implementation of sustainable development challenges

What is it about?

Public Portuguese universities have their own strategies or policies on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), leading them to progress with several timely initiatives and practices that resulted from their proactiveness and rhythm rather than from governmental commission. But universities face barriers and challenges in implementing SD, namely in the promotion of student and staff sustainability awareness and good practices, as well as in the creation of transdisciplinary courses for students. The Sustainability4U platform is a proposal to move forward taken into account the definition of ESD implementation profile in universities, based on the Portuguese example.
