What is it about?

Fashion supply chain transparency of fashio brands in Brazil that participate in the FTI is mapped resulting in three maturity levels of reported practices: opaque, translucent and transparent. We show that there is heterogeneity in adopted practices, and asymmetry between the levels of transparency that buying firms demand from their suppliers against what they provide about themselves.

Why is it important?

Brands cannot demand true transparency from their suppliers if they fail to provide transparency of their own practices. There can be no sustainability without fair practices between buyers and suppliers.

Perspectives

Fashion transparency is key to advance towards a more sustainable future.
