What is it about?
Picking the right candidate is crucial for all organizations regardless of their scale. Organisations use measures such as person-environment fit and its other variants, for the recruitment and selection process of job applicants. However, time and time again research has shown that these measures are inadequate. This research article shows that this is due to the narrow focus of these measures in undermining the dynamic/adaptive nature of organizations. In so doing, the article uses a distributed cognitive approach to highlight the need for a more sophisticated measure and provide the building blocks to do so.
