What is it about?

Employee benefits can be given to employees (in kind or services) to improve their positive work attitudes. During the prolonged recession in Greece, we run three large- scale surveys and found that providing such benefits is good for commitment, as long as there are not significant changes in the way of benefit allocation.

A way to increase affective organizational commitment is to adopt a long-term employee benefit strategy, to avoid frequent adjustments and to provide multiple types of employee benefits.
