Measuring homeownership affordability in emergent market context: an exploratory analysis for Turkey

What is it about?

Housing is not affordable in Turkey and in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir except for the highest income groups. Moreover, affordability crisis heightened in low-income groups and in urban areas. The paper argues that housing affordability crisis in Turkish housing market requires the need of urgent policy response.
