Women who Lead: Attitudes Toward Women and Women Leadership

What is it about?

This study helps us better understand the perceptions of UAE nationals and Arab residents toward women in the UAE, with particular emphasis on women leadership. This research helps us better understand the general views toward women and women seeking leadership roles.

Why is it important?

This study is provides empirical evidence that reflects a potential shift in the views toward women in the UAE. We argue that views toward women in the UAE are complex, and perhaps, evolving. On one hand, traditional gender roles and perceptions of gender inequality persist. On the other, more egalitarian views are also present, and even supportive, of women’s professional lives and pursuit toward leadership.
