What is it about?
Research on professionalisation projects tends to focus on the process by which occupations become reclassified as professions. Using the case of physiotherapists within the UK’s NHS, we show that this focus is myopic and detracts attention from changes to the skills used in work - revealing a ‘double hybridity’ around occupational control and skill deployment.
