What is it about?

Skilled migrants since the 1990s have changed the landscape of Australian workplaces. However, their workplace integration experiences have been little explored. This research article captures some of the sensitive, emotional and personal workplace integration experiences of skilled migrants from different ethnic backgrounds.

Why is it important?

Our findings clearly suggest that in spite of the skills and talents migrants bring along to contemporary workplaces, 'Racial and Ethnic' differences do exist and often their well-being is ignored.

Perspectives

Writing this article with other highly skilled migrants as collaborators gave us an opportunity to connect with the real world. Racial prejudice and discrimination do exist and it is a very sensitive topic and often migrants do not like to talk about it openly in their workplaces. This article echoes their voices by surfacing the existing discriminatory and hostile practices in workplaces. I hope you will find this article interesting and intriguing.
