What is it about?
A conceptual economic model based on the bottom-up approach to assess the economic impacts of building maintenance projects is developed. This model addresses the limitations of top-down approaches and is suited to analysis at a regional level. Building maintenance has an important role to play in the recovery of Covid recession, and there is a need for accurate analysis of their direct and indirect economic impacts at the regional level so that they are not overlooked in the prioritisation of investments. The application of the proposed model is showcased using a cladding replacement case study in Victoria Australia.
