Low-speed permanent magnet generator for use in a compact wind turbine

What is it about?

In this paper, the project of electrical energy generator is presented, which basis on the permanent magnet synchronous machine. This generator has been mounted to the vertical axis wind turbine, which could be used as a compact backyard wind power plant. The entire project was realized in case of “The Great Energy Challenge” organized by the National Center for Research and Development in Poland. The paper fits the global trend towards the use of alternative and renewable energy sources.
