What is it about?

Boundaryless careers (careers that are not limited to a single employment setting) are a popular concept. However, use of the term is often imprecise so existing measures of the boundaryless career may not fully capture the concept. We present and test a new 15 item measure of the boundaryless career.

Why is it important?

This study provides new empirically tested 15-item measure of the boundaryless career. Our new measure reflects the originally proposed boundaryless career meanings more closely than existing measures.

Perspectives

This paper makes an exciting contribution to the careers literature as the new measure embraces the original meanings of the boundaryless career and is empirically tested on a large (1350) group of IT professionals. I think it provides a strong foundation for future research on boundaryless careers and I hope other researchers find it of value.
