Not much research has explored variables associated to the decision of going public in an emerging context
Perspectives
We analyze the drivers of going public in Mexico. We find no evidence that favorable market conditions matters which is a distinct result from previous IPO studies. What matters is size (larger) age (younger) and debt (less) when taking the decision of going public
