This paper dispels the myths about the Greater Bay Area, which is an economic powerhouse in China and whose potential can be much enhanced by appropriate policies. The paper shows how some of the policies in the pipeline are enhancing the freedoms of economic actors and how the potential of the GBA can be better realized when policy makers deal with the possible impediments that currently exist.
