What is it about?
This article examines the experiences of three Chinese Canadian scholars who made their mark in promoting China at University of British Columbia, McGill University and York University. It shows that their Chinese ethnic background held sway into their recruitment by the three respective Canadian institutions. Readers will learn tremendously on the development of China learning in the Canadian academe.

Why is it important?
This is the one of its kind of research. It shows that being an ethnic Chinese gives caliber to the credibility of China teaching in North American academes. All three sowed the seed for the study of China and the East Asia in major Canadian urban centers.
