What is it about?
This study is conducted in the first half of 2002 on the return intentions of Turkish students studying abroad. Lack of political stability, lack of employment opportunities in Turkey as well as a preference to live abroad are found is factors for student preference to stay abroad.

It is important to understand the return intentions of students abroad because studying abroad is the first step for many students to stay abroad after they complete their studies.
Perspectives
Understanding non-return intentions are important for understanding future professionals who does not return to Turkey. Brain drain in this way is an important source of loss of skilled manpower from the point of view of Turkey.
