What is it about?
Lyra's Walk for Peace occurred in reaction to violence in Northern Ireland. Participants walked from Belfast to Derry in support of the Good Friday Agreement and against partisan violence. Despite affecting the people involved, we found the walk had little impact on either institution.

Why is it important?
Northern Ireland been a "post-conflict" country for over 20 years; however, violence still occurs. For example, the killing of the journalist Lyra McKee in 2019 captured the public's attention. At the time, there was no Northern Ireland executive government (it had collapsed two years before). A small group organized a peace walk to advocate for peace/GFA and against violence. To those of us that participated, it seemed like an important moment. In time, it seems it has become lost to history.
