What is it about?
This study examines how accurately eCalc predicts quadcopter hover time by comparing its simulated results to real flight tests. Different drone configurations provided 5 factors to run a 2^5-1 design of experiment. The findings show that eCalc reliably predicts hover time within 15%, making it a useful tool for quadcopter designers.

Why is it important?
Our findings showed the reliability of eCalc xCopter is as claimed. Various industries are adopting multi rotors for use in various applications from construction, farming, photography, and light shows. The ability to predict various flight performance conditions including hover time is important in all these applications.
Perspectives
Using the simulation tool early on in a quadcopter design can help optimize design leading to more efficient prototyping and a better final product.
