What is it about?
Yeast proteins and human proteins are far apart in evolution. Here we use X-ray crystallography to show that 14-3-3 proteins are remarkably conserved between man and yeast.

Why is it important?
Our paper shows that 14-3-3 proteins evolved millions years ago and their structure&function remained virtually the same underlying their importance in physiology.
