What is it about?

It is possible to collect single- or multiple-isomorphous replacement (SIR/MIR) data using a mixture sample containing micro-crystals of the native protein, different kinds of derivatives and impurities.

Why is it important?

The sample preparation for SIR/MIR experiments in serial crystallography may be greatly simplified.

Perspectives

At the moment, the proposed procedure has been only tested by simulation. Its value should be further examined via real samples.
