What is it about?

Anion coordination is an important subject. In this paper the T-shaped hydrogen bonds environment around chloride or bromide ions in self-assemblies of pyridinium bis-phenol is shown.

Why is it important?

Anion binding is important to know about anion coordination as well as in various ion recognition process. This study explains the environment of chloride and bromide in their respective bis-phenol tethered pyridinium salts.

Perspectives

This study is to develop models for anion binding and anion recognition in various self assemblies of bisphenols.
