What is it about?

The risk factors for augmented renal clearance (ARC) were assessed in 292 patients. The influences of ARC on VCM treatment were also evaluated.

Why is it important?

Febrile neutropenia was newly demonstrated to have a strong association with ARC. Over two-thirds of patients with ARC exhibited subtherapeutic concentrations of VCM.

Perspectives

In patients with ARC, individualized dosing regimens are required to achieve the target trough concentration. In the next study, we try to evaluate the validity of dose-adjustment regimen of VCM in ARC patients.
