Examination of the role of sphingosine kinase 2 in a murine model of systemic lupus erythematosus

What is it about?

Sphingosine kinases are key cellular entities that produce Sphingosine-1-phosphate, that decide several cellular and physiological processes in our body.Here we evaluated the role of one of the kinase SphK2 in innate and autoimmune response (lupus) using different models systems. We observed that SphK2 is not a deciding factor in lupus induction but involved in the clearance of celular debris during lupus progression.
