What is it about?
We identified a new molecular mechanism of the anti-inflammatory drugs "Glucocorticoids". Glucocorticoids (GC) are anti-inflammatory drugs. Their activity is mediated by GILZ, a protein induced by treatment with GC. GILZ up-regulate the anti-inflammatory Annexin-1 that inhibits neutrophils migration and inflammation.

Why is it important?
The demonstration that GILZ is necessary for Annexin-1 induction and then is a mediator of Glucocorticoids anti-inflammatory activity.
