Why is it important?

Compared to other sources on EID (including some of my past publications) this chapter explains some things better. In particular, the idea of a system boundary is discussed. The typical levels are reinterpreted and I believe better explained.

Perspectives

This chapter is almost 10 years since my book Ecological Interface Design. With an additional 10 years of thinking about the approach and how to teach it, this chapter provides better explanations of the analyses and some of the practical aspects of EID.
