What is it about?

How the nTMS-based preoperative planning (cortical and subcortical reconstruction of the motor pathway) impacts on the pre- and intraoperative surgical strategy to achieve a maximal safe resection of lesions

Why is it important?

It combines the nTMS cortical mapping of the motor cortex with the nTMS-based DTI fiber tracking of the corticospinal tract. This provides a non-invasive tool to plan the best surgical strategy, and to guide intraoperative neurophysiological mapping and lesion resection. This improves the surgical treatment of brain motor-eloquent lesions.
