What is it about?
Biodiversity loss is a major ecological crisis. Despite the term's popularity in media and policy, there is no common understanding on how to address it. Many biologists and philosophers suggest valuing biodiversity for its beauty, but we argue that aesthetic value alone offers limited support for biological conservation.
