Why is it important?

This case expands the knowledge of fistulizing Crohn’s disease and showed for the first time that fistulization between sigmoid colon and uterus is possible in patients with Crohn’s disease.

Perspectives

A clinical suspicion of right ovarian tumor does not eliminate the possibility of diagnosing and Crohn’s disease at the same time. This case also underlines that the close cooperation between gastroenterologists, radiologists, gynecologists, surgeons and pathologists is indispensable when gynecological pathology coexists with Crohn’s disease.
