What is it about?
In this study we analyzed whether RNAse7 was involved in the immunity against tuberculosis, our findings show that this antimicrobial peptides is used by lung epithelial cells and macrophages to eliminate mycobacteria. Our results show that this peptides bind to mycobacteria and promotes its killing.

Why is it important?
In the last decade the emerging of multidrug resistant strains has darken the future for tuberculosis therapy. In this reports we shoed that RNAse7 is important for Mtb elimination thus could be a future candidate for therapy.
