What is it about?

Common arterial trunk, its morpho-anatomic variations with particular emphasis on arrangement of pulmonary arteries and coronary arteries. The study provides an in-depth analysis of a recently recognised variant of common arterial trunk with sinusal origin of pulmonary arteries. It also describes a new mechanism of pulmonary stenosis in common arterial trunk that may protect the pulmonary vasculature.

Why is it important?

A detailed morpho-anatomic assessment of common arterial trunk is imperative for optimal planning of surgical repair.

Perspectives

The morpho-anatomic findings may have important implications for surgical management of patients with common arterial trunk.
