What is it about?
An arbitrary spatio-temporal light pulse is characterized, in a standard way, by the spatio-temporal intensity moments. An optical system is characterized by its ABCD matrix. The transformations of the spatio-temporal intensity moment sare described by the ABCD matrices.

Why is it important?
This is a unified and regular procedure applicable to spatio-temporal fields of any form, propagating through any paraxial system.
Perspectives

This method facilitates the analysis of spatio-temporal fields' transformations and contributes to purposeful formation of fields with desirablr structure and properties.
