What is it about?
This paper will lead to the determination of the macroeconomic factors that contribute most to entrepreneurial activity in Portugal, with particular attention being paid to sectoral differentiation, i.e. the secondary (industry) and tertiary (services) sectors.

Why is it important?
There is still no known study that differentiates the determinants of entrepreneurship in the industry from those in the services sector. The study presented here attempts to fill this gap, adopting a novel approach that makes it possible to determine the macroeconomic factors that contribute most to entrepreneurial activity, and paying particular attention to sectoral differentiation, i.e. the secondary (industry) and tertiary (services) sectors.
