What is it about?
The mother tongue has much influence in the learning of English to non-native speakers as has already been established by the available literature. However, with the availability of appropriate methods and techniques, learners of the language feel at ease and comfortable with its experience. We have therefore included such recommendations.

Perspectives
It was a great relief to have had this paper published as it brings to bear the experiences of all authors in their learning of the language both in Ghana and India. It is revealing much has not been done to remedy the situation from their time as students till now as researchers.
