Why is it important?

The review points out how this edited book is a mixture of new and exciting perspectives from recent research. These fresh contributors are collated along with established theorists and academics in the field, like Avtar Brah, and Mala Pandurang and this ammalgamation broadens the scope of the study's realms.

Perspectives

This is the first volume in a "Diaspora Studies Series", developed by the Constructions of Home and Belonging Indian Diaspora Centre (CoHab IDC), University of Mumbai. The success of this output is down to the range of the areas of work and locations featured but also to how the work focuses on the intersections of literature, cinema, history, economics, sociology and politics. This edited volume has highlighted for me the importance of more interaction between disciplines in diaspora studies.
