What is it about?
Erosive wear is an important way of damage in mechanical systems. Sometimes, to reproduce it the cost is relatively high, then the use of models is important. The basis of erosion models for ductile materials is the Finnie and Bitter contributions, but some variables presented by them is few discussed, especially the friction between the particle and target surface.

Why is it important?
Few discussion has been made about the effect of friction on the erosion rates.
