What is it about?
Race walkers have abnormal knee motions because of the event's rules. This study has shown that these abnormal movements actually help reduce flight times (which are not permitted) and help efficient movement.

The two elements of the race walking rules have always been considered separate but this study has shown that in fact they are strongly related. In addition, the teaching of excellent technique is beneficial with regard to efficient movement.
